Sphyrsync community rules
Sphyrsync is for making things and sharing them. These rules apply to everything you post, comment or send through Sphyrsync, including what you post to other platforms with it. They sit alongside the terms.
Never allowed
- Anything that sexualises a child. Any sexual content involving anyone under 18, real or generated, and anything that grooms, exploits or endangers a child. We remove it, preserve it as the law requires, close the account, and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), which passes it to the police.
- Intimate images shared without consent. Nude or sexual images or video of a real person posted without their consent, including fakes made to look like them. Request removal here; we act within 48 hours.
- Sexually explicit content. Nudity or sex acts in posts. An automatic check on our own computer holds a post that looks like it until a person has looked; if it's fine, it goes out on its own.
- Threats and violence. Threatening anyone, encouraging violence, or celebrating an attack.
- Encouraging self-harm or suicide.
- Harassment and hate. Targeting people, or attacking them for who they are (race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or similar).
- Other people's private information. Addresses, phone numbers, documents, or anything that helps someone find or harm a person.
- Illegal content, including selling illegal goods and anything that breaks someone else's rights.
- Spam and scams. Misleading people for money, fake giveaways, or pretending to be someone else.
- Work that isn't yours to post. Only post what you made or have permission to use.
What we do
- Every upload is checked against lists of known child sexual abuse images before it can be shown, and for nudity by a model that runs on our own computer (nothing is sent anywhere).
- You can report any post, comment or account from the ⚑ button, the comment's "report" link, or the profile. A person reads every report. Reports that a child could be at risk, or of intimate images without consent, hide the post while we look.
- You can block anyone from their profile. You won't see their posts or comments, and they can't comment on yours.
- We act by taking posts down, removing comments, suspending accounts, or closing them for good. When we take something down we tell the person why, unless doing so would put someone at risk.
If you think we got it wrong
Email sphyrsync@gmail.com with your handle and what happened. A person will look again.
If someone is in danger
Call 911 (or your local emergency number). For a child at risk online you can also report directly to NCMEC at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.
